Getting Started with Tablet App
Welcome to the Chatter Labs Tablet App! This guide will help you get started on your iPad or Android tablet.
System Requirements
iPad Requirements
- iOS 14.0 or later
- iPadOS 14.0 or later
- Minimum 2GB RAM
- 200MB free storage space
Android Requirements
- Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later
- Minimum 2GB RAM
- 200MB free storage space
Installation
Installing on iPad
- Open the App Store on your iPad
- Search for “Chatter Labs”
- Tap Get or the cloud icon to download
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or password
- Wait for installation to complete
- Tap Open or find the app on your home screen
Installing on Android Tablet
- Open the Google Play Store
- Search for “Chatter Labs”
- Tap Install
- Accept permissions
- Wait for download and installation
- Tap Open or find the app in your app drawer
First Launch
When you first open the app:
- Welcome Screen: Tap Get Started
- Sign In or Sign Up:
- If you have an account: Tap Sign In
- New user: Tap Create Account
- Sign In Methods:
- Email and password
- Apple
- Microsoft
Setting Up Your Account
Creating a New Account
- Tap Create Account
- Enter your email address
- Create a strong password
- Verify your email (check inbox)
- Complete your profile:
- Full name
- Profile picture (optional)
- Organization (if applicable)
Signing In to Existing Account
- Enter your email and password
- Tap Sign In
- Enable biometric login (optional):
- Face ID (iPad)
- Touch ID (iPad)
- Fingerprint (Android)
Initial Configuration
Granting Permissions
The app may request permissions for:
- Notifications: Get reminders for home practice
- Microphone: Allow voice-enabled games
Tap Allow for each permission you want to grant.
Setting Up Notifications
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Enable/disable notifications
Navigating the App
Main Screen Layout
Bottom Navigation Bar:
- Home: Your feed and recent activity
- Profile: Account settings and preferences
Gestures
- Swipe right: Go back
- Swipe left: See options/actions
- Pull down: Refresh content
- Long press: Show context menu
- Pinch: Zoom (in images/documents)
Syncing Data
Your data will not automatically syncs between:
- Web app
- Tablet app
- Other devices
By default, a user’s data is only saved on local devices.
Offline Mode
The tablet app works offline with limited functionality:
- View cached content
What doesn’t work offline:
- Voice-enabled games
Troubleshooting Installation
App won’t download?
- Check internet connection
- Ensure enough storage space
- Restart device
- Update App Store/Play Store
Can’t sign in?
- Verify email and password
- Check internet connection
- Reset password if needed
- Try different sign-in method
